Conv. top guidepin on 1968 Corvette

My early 1968 Corvette does not have guide pins on the convertible top front frame. There are only "blind" plates covering the attachment point for the guidepins. It makes it difficult to close the top and I would like to know if the car was built this way?
The top frame of the windshield has the moldings with hole for the guidelines.
Where plastic bushes used on the early '68?

Any help appreciated!

Ole, my February-built 68 convertible top has the guide pins. I suspect that my convertible top frame is original, but I can't say for certain.

My Nov. 67 build 68 has the guide pins, and they look original to me.

My 68 Feb built has the pins and the plastic bushing inserts.

My Corvette is a December '67 build, so I think the conclusion must be that my guidepins have been taken off.
