I have a 74 L48 4 Speed. When I bought it, my brother had taken out the speedo gear for some stupid reason and he lost it. Now I'm trying to replace it and I have no idea which one I need. I tried to figure out the rear ratio by spinnignt the driveshaft and counting revolutions and I got 11:4 which works out to 2.75:1. I have NEVER heard of a vette w/ this ratio and am wondering could it be a 3.08? Help?
I believe that there was an "economy" rear-end ratio of 2.73:1 available in the mid-70's. I'll have to check for more details when I get home this evening.

3.36 is the highest (lowest numerical) listing for 74 from Factory. codes AX or LR. Driven gear would be a 3987918-18 tooth gear with an 6478879 adapter. The '918 is a Brown color.
