The left seat belt retractor on my late 66vette (July car) is not returning the seat belt back into the housing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Also, is there a source for an NOS or good used original seat belt plastic housings (smooth soft plastic) for a 66 bright blue interior? The repros have a rough grainy texture.

My 66 was doing the same thing. I took it apart, taking care to note how the spring steel was wound up in the housing, cleaned it, reassembled it and it works like new. BTW, I have a late model 66 with the newer style belt buckle. I am not sure if the retractor is different from the early seat belt. -
