    '67 WIRING TROUBLESHOOTING

I'm ready to start up my rebuilt engine and installed the battery and wiring connections. I installed a new engine compartment wiring harness. Other than the horns, I have no power to any accessories, radio, interior lights, starter or any other items. Connections at the solenoid appear correct as well as the battery and wiring harness ground to the starter motor bolt. Any suggerstions where to start my troubleshooting?

Since you state that horns are not connected,I'm guessing you need to connect the wiring to the horn relay, which supplies the power for ignition.

Frank, the horns are the only accessory working. The horn relay is connected, except for one side terminal black wire, which I don't know where to connect.

I believe the 12 ga black that you have not hooked up is the primary feed for the entire car. look at the wiring diagram on Sec 12 page D-2 of you AIM or page 12-74 of the service manual. It goes to the second of the two screws on the headlamp switch.

There are two black wires at the relay, one atteaches to the fusible link and will change color from red to black. That is the power feed. The other black wire is terminated in a ring terminal (at least originally) and it goes under the relay mounting screw to provide ground for the chassis.

Bill, I have the ring terminal black wire as you say, on the screw that secures the horn relay to the radiator support. The other, side terminal I have not connected. I will connect it to the other, unmarked screw terminal on the horn relay and see what happens.
