'70-'72 seatback (hard fiberglass part portion)

Are these suppose to be the interior color all the way thru the hard material, or do they start out black and get sprayed the original interior color?

The 2 metal retaining pieces that screw into the inside of the fiberglass seatback cover that hold this panel against the back of the seat, are they suppose to have overspray on them or be natural color metal.

The panels were not "through-colored". I'm not sure what the substrate color was of these, but I think that it was a darkish gray. In SERVICE the panels were painted black and the installer had to paint them any other required interior color.

The metal retainers that you asked about were natural steel with no overspray (not that anyone could ever see it, anyway). These retainers often rust.

It looks like my passenger side panel is a service replacement. It's black, having been sprayed red, and there is overspray of paint on those metal brackets.

I discovered this by accident. My seatback retaining strap was broken, having purchased a used one off of another '71 seat, I replaced it, thats when I noticed the seatback cover was originally black, sprayed red.
