C3 1972 T-Top Bags Date Code

Are the date codes on the two T-top bags usually the same date.
The dates on the bags that came with the 3/72 Corvette I
purchased from 3rd owner are 7/71 & 9/71. I was curious
I these could be orginial.

My '71 bags read this way exactly..

The original bags with my July 18 built 68 are both marked "5 68"

Do your bags have any other marking. Mine have " t/t " approx 3/4 in letters

My '68 #2511x has both dated 5/68. Both are fairly faint and the stamp is, best I can descibe briefly, a squished six sided format (sorry for the bad description). Both have the date format as "5-68" (minus " marks). If the bag was facing with the opening towards you, one has the stamp on the flap, almost centered between the velcro gizmos, and the other has a more faint stamp, way offset to one side, upside down relative to the other and inside the bag as opposed to being on the flap. The squished six sided outline is a double line arrangement, meaning two squished six sides, one inside the other, about 1/4" or so between the two. Both have the "5-68" quite a bit offset towards the bottom of the six sided doo dah. I do not see anything other than the 5-68 and the double lined six sided outline, but they are both fairly light stamps.

Both bags have a stamp "t/s" marking about 3/4 of an inch in red ink. My date codes are also in red ink.

One bag has only these two stampings one time. The other bag has these two stamping only once also, but in addition has another stamping several times in various spots that is AT 71 once and T 71 several places, these are in black ink, and a much larger letter stamping.

My '71 is a Apr 20 build date

My July 12 build 1971 has large black "3 AT 71" and small red "April 26 1971" stamps on the bags. As to your question, hopefully some T-Top bag expert out there knows what should be expected as far as proximity to car build date and commonality of dates on the two bags.
