I bought these lines so long ago, I can't remember who I bought them from. Even the connection at the pump is leaking. Each line had to be bent somewhat to fit, but I made sure there was no pressure on them before I connected and tightened them down. This is really frustrating at this stage in my project, but I guess another set of lines is worth a try. Does anyone have any recommendations? (Maybe I'll try classic tube, where I believe I can just buy the lines in original steel, and not the blocks again)

Re: ALSO LEAKING AT FUEL PUMP CONNECTION
i recommend that you put the carb and fuel pump fittings in a bench vise and then seat the tubing flares with teflon tape on the threads just to reduce the friction before you install them on the carbs and fuel pump. after you seat the flares you can remove the teflon tape.- Top

Are your lines SS or plain steel? The SS lines are much harder, especially where they're flared, and it can be very difficult to achieve the mechanical seal at the flares. Also, if you have to really reef on them to try and stop the leaks (with SS lines), they can damage the flare seats in the brass blocks and even regular steel flares will then leak due to the damaged seats. I'd recommend using regular steel lines.- Top

Re: ALSO LEAKING AT FUEL PUMP CONNECTION
Rob; What i do is put a little amount of pipe dope on the fitting threads,
(the loose conector around the tube) be careful not to get it in the pipe itself, this acts as a lubricant and the fittings will tighten up more. after a few miles change the filters.- Top

as i have posted be fore
several industrial companies sold soft copper washers that are shaped like the flare area and these will help seal. i have not bought any of these for years but i got them from mcmaster carr. i do not have a catalog anymore but these washers do work in sealing flared fitting made from harder tubing.- Top

Re: ALSO LEAKING AT FUEL PUMP CONNECTION
I ordered another set of steel lines and blocks. I'll remove the existing lines tomorrow night. I'll tighten the new ones off the car to seat them before installing them. If the leaks are eliminated (and no other problems pop up) I'll crank up the engine wednesday. Thanks for the replies and suggestions....- Top
