Does anyone have any experience (good / bad) w. midyear brake rotors, as far as quality is concerned? Is there a difference between the $80 and $90 rotors, as compared with the $50 ones that I've seen advertised? I know they are manufactured in different places, but is that really a factor?
Also, when installing a new rotor, should it be turned on a brake lathe before installing, or just run as-is? TIA!
I have found that the $50 rotors works just the same as the expensive ones. I ALWAYS have my rotors turned before installing new pads whether they're new or not. For $10, it's cheap insurance to make sure they're true. I personally hate to have to do a job twice.
I have seen brake pedal pulse on cars where new rotors were installed without turning, especially on the front.
