1959 block 739 or 519?

About when did the 519 block replace the 739? The TIM&JG only says;
"1958 & Early-1959........3737739"
"Late-1958 through 1960...3756519".

Does "early" and "late" refer to the calendar year or the model run?

If calendar year, then I read it as between aprox. Dec 1958 and Jan 1959.
If model year, the I read it as aprox. June 1958 to Sept 1958.

Or is there a typo and it should say "Late-1959 through 1960" anf if so I am really confused.

My car has an approx build date of Jan 30 1959 and would like to know what is correct before I start my search for a block.

Pat, now I am confused which does not mean much. I know of a Flint 519 block having been cast June 30, 1958. As I understand things, this motor could be "technically" accepted for 1958s July, 58 to end of 58 production and then possibly to Dec, 1958 on the 1959 models. So, I would think that should you stumble across a Flint 739 block with a casting of July 30 or later--you could have possibly had a 739 in your car too. Thought I have been told that motors are accepted upto 6-months within build--who told me this? I wouldn't pass a 739 by if it fits! Does anyone know the last casting date of the Flint 739? Regardless, bet it is a lot easier to find a 519 in your 59s situation.
