I have a 1966 427/425 roadster. I am having problems with my wiper motor. Both the high and low speed have a constant rhythmic clicking sound while the wipers are running. I have pulled the glove box and looked under the dash while the wiper motor is running to see if any of the moving wiper parts under the dash are hitting etc, and they appear not to be hitting anything. I suspect the noise is coming from within the motor, it works fine except for this annoying clicking noise. I have searched the archives and could not find anyone with a similiar problem. Any suggestions as to the cause of this noise would be greatly appreciated.

Re: C2 Wiper Motor noise
First, check the 'obvious'.... If WSW arms + blades are not factory originals or cant of blade to arm isn't adjusted properly, it's possible for the wiper blades to either strike each other or hit the surrounding windshield reveal molding(s) during operation. Do a quick check to insure the clicking noise isn't externally generated....- Top

Re: C2 Wiper Motor noise
Jack,
The WSW arms and blades are factory originals. The wiper blades are not striking each other and they are not hitting the surrounding windshield reveal molding(s) during operation. The noise is internally generated from the wiper motor. On slow speed the frequency of the clicks is 1.5 or 2 per second.
Thanks for your response.

Re: C2 Wiper Motor noise
Ron,
Thanks for your suggestion. Based on your suggestion I removed the two wire connector from the washer pump, ran the wipers and still had the clicking noise coming from the wiper motor. It looks like I am going to have to pull the wiper motor out and investigate further.
Thanks

Re: C2 Wiper Motor noise
Danny,
Thanks for the suggestion. I pulled the washer front plate off, ran the wiper motor minus the front plate, and the clicking sound was gone. I examined the front plate and couldn't see any place where it had been hitting the washer pin gear.
I reassembled it after cleaning out some of the old hardened grease and the noise is now gone. I suspect it had been apart before and the part of the cam that fits over the washer pin was not aligned with the pin. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question.- Top
