    C3: Are '69 7 leaf springs same as '67?

Just aquired a '69 350/350 4spd coupe. The car came with a fiberglass rear spring, but I want to swap it out for a stock 7-leaf spring. I have a 7 leaf spring from a '67 in the garage, and was wondering if it would be correct for use on the '69. Yes? No?

The spring had the same part number for 63-72 in my '76 parts book, so it would seem they are interchangeable.

      Dan,

The production HD spring was the same from '63 thru '74, so your '67 spring should be a exact match for the one that originally came on your '69.

Yes, but not all that many 1969s were originally equipped with a 7 leaf spring. The only ones that were equipped were L-71s with F-41 and L-88/ZL-1.

I agree Joe; a little over 4% had the HD spring *NM*

Going to the HD rear spring will alter the handling characterics somewhat. Under hard driving, it will increase the oversteer slightly. Before you get too carried away on a curvy road get the feel of the car first. No fun meeting your tailights

Nope. 66 SB is my baby.

Nope... BB stays! Just needed a stable mate

Now that I have a two car garage - there's room for another Corvette! The '66 BB stays, of course, and figured I needed a driver. Found a deal on a well documented '69 350/350 coupe in CA with POP and 79k miles. It's original down to the smog pump (sans the fiberglass spring and one re-paint). The price was right.

For the record, let me say that I love my wife... especially since her car is going to have to stay in the rain for a while - or at least until the lift is installed. Heh!

Couldn't resist Dan - best of luck with your 69. Gary, I knew you had that 66 SB for good...Craig
