    Power tuning

Can someone explain power tuning. All I know is it has something to do with the size of the harmonic balancer.

    Re: Power tuning

    Randy -

Power tuning has nothing to do with the harmonic balancer. Generally, power-tuning relates to tuning the ignition advance curve and carburetor jetting to optimize wide-open throttle power; usually done with the car on an instrumented chassis dynamometer, or by comparing the results of successive dragstrip runs.

you may be thinking of power timing

this is where you set the timing at max advance instead of at idle.
