I am in need of a spare wheel for my 66. This will be used as a spare and originality and correctness are not major considerations. Doesn't have to be corvette if there is another wheel that works that would be great if it was cheaper, and more readily available.
I'm just asking if there is a spare wheel of the right configuration etc. Not whether anyone here has one for sale. Question is probably too simple, but I'm not sure if most seemingly suitable wheels would fit in the spare tire carrier, or if there are any other considerations I haven't considered.
You can also use late model(1970's) 6" wide wheels but it will be neccessary to enlarge the pilot hoes about 1/32" in diameter. Most of the late model wheels will have 4" to 4.25" backspacing. It's a good idea to check any wheel you get as a spare to make sure it will fit over your hubs and seat flat against your rotors.
