    Removal of upper pulley 1965

I'm trying to freshen up and paint my engine and water pump. My question is I have taken off my fan clutch and fan and I'm down to the pulley. If I remove the center nut on the pulley should the pulley slip off easily or do I have remove anything else to expose the water pump so I can paint it. Thanks for your help.

center nut? we don't have no stinkin center nuts on our water pump pulleys (sorry, couldn't resist) . . . there is a centering nodule, of sorts, but the thing is held on by four bolts (or is it studs and nuts?) . . . big ol' thing in the center of that pulley on the bottom, however . . .

I can give advise on the nut that holds the wheel but I know nothing of a center nut holding the water pump pully
