hello all,
just have a question about the current state of chroming in the industry as i was recently at my resto shop and the owner said he tried to get a front bumper for my 69 and had problems with quality of recent chrome repros. He tried to get a repro from Paragon (2x) and was met with bad results twice (bad chrome, welding on bumpers etc) He tried another source (Key something?) and was met with similar bad results. I eventually went with an original 70 chrome front bumper that had marginal chrome and a few flaws. I am going to get this bumper re chromed at a top place ( Paul's ?) and get it installed. I should also add that the mechanic in the shop felt the repro bumpers all fit like sh*t and were not a good choice. my shop guy said that this front bumper problem (as far as quality/availability was never a problem in the past but now seems to be). any thoughts??
