I am in the process of restoring my expansion tank (previous owner painted it black!). How polished is the aluminum? i.e. almost chrome, dull etc Also, what color are the two straps that hold it down?
Straps are plated, tin or zinc, not polished. Tank is also not polished, just a clean natural aluminum finish. If you are lucky, you may strip the paint and get to the original finish.
