I'm considering having my '73 Rochester carb rebuild & refinished soon. The carb runs great but the finish needs to be brought back. Any recommendations on who would be up to job would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tim

Re: Carb. Rebuild/Refinish
Holley does the refinishing, but it's gonna cost ya some loong green, in the neighboorhood of 125-150 big 'uns. The EPA closed most of the carb refinishers down due to the "bad stuff" that was going up in the atmosphere. Had a guy here who did all of my carb refinishing, charged me 25 per carb, looked like brand new, but the Feds came in, took readings, and said "conform or close". The guy said the cost to install all the filters and pumps was close to $50,000.00, sooo, adios. I think this is what you may run into, unless the Feds have overlooked a small shop.- Top

Re: Carb. Rebuild/Refinish
Holly restored my two barrels, they were so incorrect, both cosmetics and function, thet went back twice, I sent them to Mr. Luck, They came back as close to perfect as I have seen in my thirty years of Corvetting. They started, ran correctly with only an idle adjustment and a year later they still are leak free. He is simply the BEST
good LUCK

Have Patience
I too agree with Jerry Luck for Q-Jet/Holley restoration having been there 3-4 times, never a dissapointment. BUT, at this time of year, you have to cut Jerry some slack on schedule. It's the peak season for Corvette carb restorations, Jerry's only one guy, and he can/does run behind from time to time. Jerry's got a heart of gold and tends to be an optimist on schedule. The work's worth the wait....- Top
