    72 Headlight

I need to purchase a 72 headlight HIGH beam, 3 prong.
Any suggestions on a vendor. Must be correct T3.
    Thanks Big John

I think that Lectric Limited has these available in reproduction now. However, I think that they only sell as a set.

For a good used lamp, I'd go looking at the local self-service wrecking yard. Find a 72, or so, GM passenger car and you'll likely find what you need. High beam lamps are not often replaced and very often you'll find original high beams in an old car. It doesn't have to be Chevrolet, either. ANY GM car of the period had what you want and, likely, still has at least 1.

John Pirkle had these a few weeks ago when I was asking. (706) 860-9047. Supposedly, late '71 and '72 used a short-lived T-3 pattern, and they are scarce.

I believe that there is a minor difference in the repro lamps and the original T-3's. I do not have a JG in front of me to refer to.

            John:
If the bulb you are replacing has 3 prongs it is not a high beam- it is a low beam (outside position). This bulb has both low and high beam functions. The T-3 for your '72 did not have the triangle in the middle and the "T-3" was located at the bottom of the bulb. These had a very short run since Power Beams were introduced in '73 (on Corvettes). Good luck in finding a replacement.
