In search of TH400 Yoke GM #3930827

I'm looking for the discontinued yoke GM #3930827.

Does anyone know how long ago it was discontinued? I may be wasting my time contacting dealers trying to find a new one in stock.

If anyone has suggestions on where to look.

    Thanks

    Mike----

The GM #3930827 yoke was discontinued in late 2002. You might try a Spicer dealer for a replacement. Many of these sort of items are available from Spicer (often, at prices well below the GM price). The problem with this piece is that it is Corvette-only and that fact limits its aftermarket availability.

On the market you will find "rebuilt" examples of these yokes. When "rebuilt", the outer circumference is turned down and a stainless steel sleeve installed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND the use of such "rebuilt" pieces. The rebuilding does restore the seal/bushing surface (which is the main thing that goes wrong with these yokes), but it also SERIOUSLY weakens the piece. I'd never use one unless there was absolutely no alternative.

      Thanks Joe,

I made a few calls this afternoon. What I'm hearing is that there is no catalog that will cross reference the GM part number to a Spicer part number. What I was told is that I need to bring the part to a Spicer dealer so that they can measure it and order another based upon the demensions. Unfortunatly I don't have a core.

I'll make a few more calls tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your help.

      Mike

            Found one

Thanks for all your help with this. I appreciate the emails from those people that had one they were willing to part with. I did find a new one sitting on the shelf at a specialty driveline shop not too far from the office.

            Thanks again
