    C3 speedo off

At 35mph on the speedo I am really going 40 and the faster you go the worse it gets. I've read in lots of places that the gear in the transmission changes the indicated speed by 5 mph but at what speed does that work? Do I use my 5 mph difference at 35 mph or get up to 50 or more?

    Bill-----

A speedo gear change will change the speedometer reading by a certain PERCENTAGE, not a fixed MPH value. Usually, for 57-81 T-10, 63-74 Muncies, and 57-67 Powerglides, a change of 1 tooth will change the reading APPROXIMATELY 5%.

It's hard to read 5% at a low indicated speed. So, you should determine your true versus indicated MPH at, say, 60 MPH. Then, figure the PERCENTAGE that it is off and change gear(s) accordingly.
