Does anyone know if the 1970 LT-1's had the small block or big-block swaybar in the front (none in the rear)? My car has a 7/8" bar in the front, but I thought I read somewhere that LT-1's should have the big block bars (1" or so).

Re: 1970 LT-1 swaybar size
As far as I know the LT-1 was equipped with the base suspension 3/4" front anti-roll bar unless the LT-1 was installed as part of the ZR-1 package, in which case it would have the Z-06/F-40 15/16" front bar and 550/305 lb/in F/R springs Later in the seventies, after the demise of BBs and as the Corvette got heavier, the base suspension bar was increased to 13/16".
Big block base suspension cars received a 7/8" front bar and a 9/16" rear bar.
It sounds like your car has a BB base front bar, which would reduce roll and increase understeer.
Nailing down the bar sizes can be tricky as the three above bars are only 1/16" different. Measure the bar in at least three locations in areas that have minimum forming to be sure you determine the correct size.

I agree with the information provided by Duke and can confirm that the 3/4" front bar was used for 1970 LT-1 unless the LT-1 was supplied as part of the ZR-1 package. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
