Can anyone help identify whether my '73 Roadster with "air" is missing a body part? Looking down the rear vents, I can see the gas tank as well as the spare tire holder and mufflers. Other cars that I have seen had what looked like an enclosed well, but these were cars without "air" and these cars also had the Astro-Ventillation vacum doors. While at Bloomington this year there was an "Air" Roadster that, from an angle, one could see the pavement below. Any ideas?

Re: Roadster rear vents, '73
Bob, that is correct. With air, there is no astro vent, so you can see thru to the ground (on the convertables as their vents are back past the interior. On the coupes, they have built in drains as their vents are over the rear storage area). I had the same question on my '73, so I looked at the silver salute cars at Bloomington this year, and I could see the ground.

Crack a book....
Picking a random copy from AIMs, the 1970 manual shows coupe rear duct installation as UPC 1, Sheet F20 and convertible as UPC, Sheet F21. Suspect it's not very dissimilar in your Shark's AIM. Bottom line is: there's adhesive, screws and rivets used in the system....- Top
