Bob, While I can't speak to the best method for overspray, I did have excellent results with engine enamel for my 56 from Hirsch Paint products. It is very glossy - but I think that is the correct look. As far as overspray, I suspect that the guys that painted the engines were hot, tired and, relatively unskilled - so I waited until a hot day when I was tired (and I'm really unskilled), masked off the aluminum intake, oil filter flange and water pump hub, and shot it with an uneven amount of overspray on the exhaust manifolds. The starter, generator, distributor, fuel pump, and oil filter cannister were not installed. Steve

Don't use Bill Hurst for orange paint as it is not the right color. I have used Quanta paint on the last three cars and the color is dead on.
