67' Removing ignition switch

Just about to dig into my dash to send the speedometer out for repair and I'm told that I need a special wrench to remove the ignition switch and the light switch. The guys at the local auto shops know nothing about it! Do I need it and where can I find such an item?? Appreciate any help!! Mike Arteaga

I bought mine from Long Island Corvette and they worked great.

I must be missing something. I always take them out with a large, straight slot screwdriver

If I'm reading this right I don't need the special tool??

Mike, with your key, turn the ignition switch counterclockwise and insert a thin allen wrench into the small hole in the ignition switch, which will allow you to continue turning the key counterclockwose, and unlock and remove the switch. You do not need any special tools for this.
