    Vehicle Certification Label

Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase a replacement vehicle certification label. This is the little blue label located on the door jamb of the driver's door. A recent repainting caused the demise of the original and I didn't pay that close attention to the label because I saw numerous other replacement stickers listed in Ecklers and Mid-America so didn't think that a replacement would be hard to come by. Any ideas? THANKS!

Reproduction 'cert' label is available from Dr. Dobbins (author of Corvette Fact Books). He has a label/decal web site that can be accessed off the yankeelady.com swap meet site.

Now, be prepared to BEND OVER when you see the price! Last time I checked it was $150 for the blank label that you fill in and paste on. This is due to the good Dr's recouping his litigation efforts with GM, the Feds and his State when he was the first to reproduce this label and some felt it a violation of various laws governing emissions and a vehicle mfgr's certification duties....

Fill in if you want. Helps to have an original to copy font from. Plus, using a Selectric doesn't 'get it'. Pressure sensensitive ink transfer of Selectric ribbon will NOT stick to foil as factory original type setup did....

Explanation of coding is in your JG. With original AC foil label, crib sheet of how you want your reproduction to read, and a visit to a pro print shop, you CAN emulate factory original look with proper repro foil label.

Used to be Paragon repro labels were QUITE different from Frigidaire originals depending on year. Haven't seen one in a while and note they've 'touted' their labels are 'improved' in recent years. Good luck!
