1958 AIRBOX

I would like to know if in 1958 any aixbox Corvettes were built. I do know that it could be order with this part and the part number is 579e. But I do not know if any were built in 1958 ther were some in 1957. And if there were some built how do I verify that this is a original car.

I presume you ARE referring to the freah air duct for the fuel injector. I know of no such animal for 58. As far as I know, it is a 57 only item. In 58 (up to 62, then in 63-65), a metal air cleaner was mounted to the left inner fender panel and had air ducted into it by a hose similar to the fresh air hose for the heater.
