      The application was all 1973 and 1974 Oldsmobiles with 55 amp alternator. Given the date, I'd say that it was originally installed on an early 1973 Olds. However, all that may remain of the original alternator is the drive end case if this unit has been through a commercial rebuilder's operation. There's nothing to say that it's still 55 amp, either. It could be anywhere from 37 to 63 amps depending upon which internals it has now.
