C1 59: Transmition part check

Hi,

The housing of my 4 speed shifter states T10-7D casting 8819490.

I can't find these numbers in Noland's restoration & technical guide. Is this a correct shifter since I suspect this to be a Hurst shifter ?

t 10 7 B is appropriate for a 60 and 61 vet, t 10 7 A is waht you need for a 58 or 59 t-10. . Hurst shifter not a factory item . repo 4 speedf shifters are available and of good quality. mike

I saw the shifter on your web site, it is wrong for the car The ball chould be white, yours is white with a black center piece showing the shift patern on it. It should also have a "T" lever the needs to be lifted to shift to reverse. It is to prevent an accidental shift to reverse.

Rob- The shifter in your car looks like a Hurst or Hurst clone. The original had a "T" slide to prevent accidentally shifting into reverse.
