1100893 Alternator

I have a 1100893 55amp alternator dated 9K16. I believe it is for a 1969 Chevrolet but I don't know what vehicle it is for. Can someone help out? Is this a Corvette alternator?

The GM #1100893 alternator was used for 1970 Oldsmobiles with 55 amp alternator. That's the only application that I can find for it. The date is consistent with that application, too. As I've said many times before, if the alternator has been through a commercial rebuilders operation, then likely all that you have of the original alternator is the drive end case half (i.e. the part with the "numbers" stamped on it). The rest of the pieces could have originally resided who knows where?

Thanks Guys,

I have had this alternator in my sb '67 for the past five years. It has always worked just fine. I had thought the '893 was for a late 1969 or early 1970 Corvette. Too bad, I thought I could help out a C3 owner.
For Christmas my family gave me a 1100693 37 amp correctly dated for my car from John Pirkle.
