C2- Birdcage paint Trim tag area

I keep noticing differences in the finish on the birdcage in the trim tag area of the C2 vettes I see. Some are all the green primer, some seem to have a black paint while still others seem to be a mild undercoat material. As well, there are combinations of all the prior mentioned finishes. Is there this many possibilities? or is there one correct finish for the birdcage in this area? Thank you once again for your answers or comments.

I would suspect it did not change but I know for C3 the bird cages went from a wash to remove oil, debris to a phosphate dip that left a green oxide appearance then were painted flat black. So you be seeing the layering (wearing) effect of the two finishes.
