Front end wiring on an 80

I'm in the process of restoring the front end wiring loom on my 80. The previous owner(s) had done some fairly drastic "re-wiring" involving what looked like household appliance flex!
I want to return the wiring to the front park, sidelights and cornering lights to the original layout and colours. (Headlight wiring is fine as it left the factory) However, a large "chunk" of about a foot of the wires has been cut out.

    My main question:
Are these light fittings wired normally hard into the loom, or are there connector blocks between the light fitting and main loom? I can't tell, since this chunk has been removed.
If the fittings are just wired hard to the loom, then it will be an easier fix, as i just have to splice the new (correct color) wire back in.
If I'm missing any connector blocks, then obviously the job gets a bit harder to finish "correctly".

    Thanks

It sounds as if BUBBA who owned your car earlier must have been a Mustang owner.
I think that it will be a lot easier for you and safer for you if you bought a new wireing harness for your front end from one of the venders who advertises in The DriveLine.
I bought a new front wireing harness for my 79 from lectric limited. It was a perfect fit, color correct, looked great and performed flawlessly. Don't try to go behind someone else's mistakes and patch-up in the area of lights and turn signals. The cost of the correct replacement harness is marginal when it comes to your safety as well as peace of mind.

I'm inclined to agree with the Bubba reference!

Having the car in the UK means the operation of the side/park lights has to be changed (only subtly) to pass inspection. Whoever did this work made a complete mess out of it.
I have to be honest, I don't think the extent of the damage is large enough to warrant a full front loom replacement. It would be the ultimate best answer, I have to agree with that, but the main headlamps are not affected, and their wiring is still sound (So it's not as if I'm patching up any heavily loaded stretches of the loom)
It's just those park/turn and sidelights. The cost of a new front loom is too much for me at the moment...
I feel quite happy to solder/splice the broken wires where necessary. I just wanted to know if there would originally have been any connector blocks in that area, as I had seen in some pictures before. Things are pointing to "NO" at the moment, which may be a good thing, as getting hold of second hand connectors would probably be a hassle and a half!

      Thanks for your input, John!

      Cheers
