Could have been used on a 1962 Corvette, 250HP, but not later years.

Two digit year means Tonawanda

Not sure Tonawanda (NY) heads made it to Corvette Engines. Check with the judging manuals avail. on the site www.ncrs.org

Two diget year would suggest Tonawanda - not appropriate for Corvette. Keep looking.

And the judges remove the valve covers how often?

usually don't need to remove valve cover to differentiate a tonowanda head as the double camel humps or the powerpak casting on each end of the head won't be broached but rather a rough sand casted appearance with tonowanda. flint camels broached and hence smooth. mike
