Well, I finished the 59 to the best on my THEN knowledge but now need to go back and fix some things. It is my understanding now that the distributor was installed at the Flint Engine plant and shipped to St Louis which would put the distributor date prior to engine assembly by an unknown period (probably not too long) But in the case of the Generator it was added during auto assembly in St Louis so its tag date could be between the engine assembly date and the car assembly date. Is all I've said a reasonable deduction??? If I had a shrink you know what diagnosis he'd give me don't you...

You're correct on both counts - have the tags dated as you have mentioned and you'll be in business (CC can supply dated tags for both unless you have another source in mind). -
