The Chevy Corvette buyer's Guide (December, 1991) had an excellent article on repairing vent window regulators. It describes how to grind off the "peened" rivet looking heads of the cast body, drill, tap and install 1/2", 1/4 X 20 bolts and washers. I followed it and it worked great, resulting in removing all the excess in and out play.

I'm about to perform the same repair on my regulators with the gears kits from the supplier "America's finest Corvettes". Do you have any way of forewarding that aticle to my email? Any other tips anyone?

I installed a new gear from those folks in one of my 67's regulators a year or so ago. Took all of 10 minuets from start ot finish. Works like a charm. I don't remember having to drill any rivets, just bent back the tabs on the bottom and rebent them when finished.Comment
