The Chevy Corvette buyer's Guide (December, 1991) had an excellent article on repairing vent window regulators. It describes how to grind off the "peened" rivet looking heads of the cast body, drill, tap and install 1/2", 1/4 X 20 bolts and washers. I followed it and it worked great, resulting in removing all the excess in and out play.

Re: '67 VENT WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR
Frank,
I'll take a picture of the article and then email it to you. Let me know if that works. You'll probably have to enlarge it, but here goes...let me know if it doesn't work and I'll try again, enlarging it on my end before I send it.- Top

Re: '67 VENT WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR
I installed a new gear from those folks in one of my 67's regulators a year or so ago. Took all of 10 minuets from start ot finish. Works like a charm. I don't remember having to drill any rivets, just bent back the tabs on the bottom and rebent them when finished.- Top
