    C1 Starter Removal

How is the starter removed from a '62 with an exhaust cross-over pipe? Is it necessary to lower the RH or both front pipes?

The ST-12 refers all starter stuff to the '61 Passenger Car Manual, which is silent on removal. Nice section on rebuilding the stater though.

Chris - Starter will come right off with no concern about the cross over pipe.

I second Dennis' post. No problem at all getting it out or back in without disturbing anything on the exhaust system. Biggest challenge is hooking up the small wires to the solenoid. Helps to have long. skinny fingers.
