    C3 1970 Turn Signals

The turn signals are lit but not blinking. I there any way to check the turn signal relay or do you just replace it? Is there anything else it could be if they are lit but not flashing? Thanks

Be sure both front and rear bulbs are burning. It takes the amperage of both to activate the flasher. Otherwise, it's probably the flasher unit.

      Also, check....

the radio interference capacitor on the TS flasher. Cap mounts in a 'sandwich' fashion between the flasher can and the wiring harness connector. A folded section of fishe paper insulated the leads of the RF capacitor from touching the flasher can AND the metal clip that holds the flasher to the back side of the passenger lower dash pad.

If the RF cap's leads are inadvertently touching external metal (either the flasher can or the mounting clip), you can experience 'funnies' that effectively take the flasher out of the TS circuit....

Just replaced the one in the my 70. Picked up a new one at Wal-Mart for about $2.00. Buy the two prong unit and its a quick change out. Mine has the extra piece mentioned in the previous post. I believe since new, this is the second one I have replaced.
