I wrote in here awhile back regarding shoulder belts on my 66 roadster, someone genorously replied to look for the plate inside the wheel well where the mounting bolt tightened to.It appears I have this plate!!.To be sure I would like to hear from someone who "has"shoulder belts.my question is,does this plate curve at the top around the more square body bend?(there are two,one for the wheel well, and one bend to go around the frame, which is more square.Does this plate then disappear behind the inside of the frame?.I'm a little excited as there were only 37 built with shoulder belts in 66(according to "corvette black book")any help would be appreciated!.Jordan

Re: 1966 shoulder belts A85
Jordan,
------While it is cool that your 66 has the shoulder-harness bracket, this fact alone does not mean that your car came with them. After a certain date all 66 Vettes came with the bracket weather ordered with A85 or not. I may have missed it in your former post but how late is your serial number? This running change shows up around 15,000 as per Noland A. The only 66 I absolutely know had A85 from the factory was quite late, somewhere up around 25,000.........Bill S- Top

Re: 1966 shoulder belts A85
just because a 66 or 67 has the shoulder harness mounting brackets riveted to the floor pan/wheel well housing does not mean the car was originally equipped with shoulder belts as i bought a totaled 66 in a WVa junk yard 15 years ago. the totaled 66 vet had the brackets BUT the threaded holes in the brackets were Plugged with a cream-colored co-plug. mike- Top

Re: 1966 shoulder belts A85
The VIN number off this car is #194676S118872.Trim tag reads
H31
STYLE 66 467 A-5942 BODY
TRIM 455 900 PAINT
I realize the tag reads as a 67 interior color in a 66 car, which is something else I'm trying to figure out,one thing at a time though!!.Any help is appreciatted.Jordan- Top
