59 transmission vacum and kickdown

do the vacum lines and kickdown lever get engine overspray on them or were they bolted on after engine paint?

Bob,
The official judging position right now is that the kickdown linkage was cad plated with no overspray. That being said, I have both a 59 and 60 unmolested linkage in my possesion and neither one was anything but bare unplated steel. If you want the points however, you better plate them! Iam convinced that the 56-57 linkages were plated, but I am unconvinced that the 58-60 were anything but bare steel. I took a point or two on my 60 at almost every meet, but just couldn't bring myself to plate it. The Vaccuum lines should show no overspray.

Bob, Just a clarification. The bellcrank that mounts to the back of the engine was the only unplated steel on both my linkages. All the remainder of the linkage was plated. I would be interested in hearing what finish yours is prior to making it "correct" for judging.
