i have been getting a message the last couple of days,"error 500 internal server error" lately. what is causing this as i never had this before

Clem, I have gotten the same error message on some responses when I open them - so it's probably not your machine. Steve

I found about a dozen messages posted Saturday night late that are empty. At the end of each month I run a lot of housecleaning routines on the server. Something overloaded this month. The report I get of these routines was cut off near the end, meaning it didn't complete. There were these blank messages, and I got a lot of reports of errors of people trying to use the website.

I am going to try to set the housekeeping up to run twice a month so it will be smaller chunks. I run it after midnight west coast time to interfere with the least users.

The logs tell me that midnight PST is the least active time on the server, but we still average 1350 requests for pages during that hour. I will try to break it up so we don't have this problem next month.
