C2 Points to Electronic conversion? & Need Parts!

    I need a recommendation for a conversion for my 67 327.
I see "Lectric Limited" in the driveline issue, any good?
I am in need of a replacement water pump,350hp,
GM belts with P/S and A/C
    + & - battery cables,
    Dist. cap,rotor & wires.
    Upper control arm bushings.
I want to stay as close to orig. as possible, but these are not for judging.
If any of you have this stuff for sale please contact me.
    Thanks.

On the conversion, look at www.tispecialty.com/index.html You get a complete rebuild, restoration and conversion. Call him for pricing.

      Dave,

I've been running a Pertronix for 6 years without problem. It does have an extra wire to the distributor. There is another brand that only runs a single wire I believe it is offered by T.I. Specialty. I also remember it being more expensive but it might be better.

If all you want is good quality, functionally equivalent, and stock appearing, I believe you can buy all or most of those parts at your friendly local auto parts store (FLAPS). Know you can get them from the usual Corvette vendors. Probably get them from your local Chevy dealer too. All those places will also sell you points and a condenser for under $10.

I put a Pertronix in mine 2 years and 3K miles ago. Works fine. Not sure I would do it again, though. Points and a condenser are easily field repairable and small and cheap enough to carry as spares. C'mon, how often do you set the dwell on a car that gets driven a few thousand miles per year? And don't you enjoy fiddling with the car? That's why it's a hobby. After all the maintenance I over-do on my car, setting the dwell would be pleasurable.

Talking with the "spin doctor" at Scirico Brothers (NJ) they are supposed to be THE distributor guys. the "dr" says that if you might jumpstart someone with a unit like this, it might blow because of a type of flashback leaving you stranded. He says the way to go is with an external bow like an MSD and use varios OEM parts to make the unit up, and actually recurve the distributor again. He also mentions the fact with TI you should be gapping at like .040. I too was looking to use a TI but now it gets me thinking like Chris. Your thoughts as to the failure mentioned above might help me in my own distibutor dilema.

Some of us actually drive our Corvettes....

Let's see, I've got about 60K miles on my '71 since restoration and four Founder's Awards under my belt. This is MORE than a few thousand miles per year....

Also ask Chuck Berge about the 'joy' he experienced with his '57 leading the NCRS National Convention Road Tour into Bowling Green when one of his dual points welded on the freeway bringing the caravan of 100+ Corvettes to an unexpected stop.

I also expect Dennis Clark has a few stories to tell as he may have logged more highway miles than any of us on his classic Corvettes....

Point is not all NCRS cars are 'weekend warrior' or 'trailer queen' vehicles. The $160 I paid for a drop-in Breakerless SE ignition module has about recouped it's cost in points, rotors, and tune-up labor and that's worth it to me.

BTW, Lectric Ltd does not make the Breakerless SE, they OEM it and repackage it in their name. The mfgr is M&H Fabricators out of California (www.wiringharness.com), perhaps the world's largest maker of classic car wiring products.

Guess you helped make up my mind which way to go. You suggest the M&H unit. Did you ever have to use a separate box like the MSD unit on any of your cars like was suggested to me? Thanks for your insight.
