'58 ground wire

There is a ground wire that goes from the radio chassis mount to the LH rea engine valve cover. Where does it pass through the firewall? Does it go through the grommet adjacent (driver side) to the ballast resistor?

I asked this question some time ago, and that's the answer I got. I put it through the firewall hole next to the ballast resistor - the one where the ignition harness goes.

Reason I asked is that the AIM seems to show that this wire got a dedicated hole. Another hole didn't make sense to me. This hole is perfectly situated for this purpose.

Thanks Chris. I got the same impression from the AIM, but couldn't find the hole. Since I had done some 'glass repair to the firewall, I thought I might have filled it in.

I agree with Chris, I have a 60 model and the ground wire exits the same hole as the ign harness by the ballast resistor.

Terry...

No, you did not fill it in, the Radio ground goes thru the same grommet as the ballast wires. It will also ground on the same valve cover screw as the wiper ground. A external tooth lockwasher may be added to make sure of good contact to the cover.
