A post by Tom Fetchik a few weeks back said PPG acrylic lacquer is still available from William Wolf & Co in Ohio: 800-447-9653. Sometime back, I also heard that TriCity Paint in San Diego, CA (Rick Faucett) still had PPG acrylic lacquer (try http://www.tricitypaint.com )

I doubt it, lacquer paint has been outlawed in California for several years. It is $6,000.00 fine if caught painting with it.

That only applies to commercial shops. As far as I know there are no VOC emissions regulations that apply to the hobbiest in his own garage.
