    C1 ignition shielding

I need to get the entire setup for my 62 340 HP engine.

I am looking at the main catalogs and they all offer at similar pricing.

One says they make there own. Do they all buy from one source?

Can anybody tell me if they are all correct or is one source more correct than the others?

    thanks

Chris, I am really only familiar with Paragon and CCentral. Paragon makes many of the fasteners they sell. Case in point, I needed new axle flange bolts, I couldn't find them in the Paragon catalog but Zip seemed to have them. I ordered from Zip and they said not in stock but could ship in about 2 weeks. Turns out Paragon makes them, (they were easier to find in the new catalog) but Zip got them from Paragon and shipped to me. That's the way it is with alot of stuff. Each supplier seems to have their own specialities but what they don't make, or have made themselves, they can usually get. Paragon is close to us and has a great discount program available, including one for NCRS members too, plus you save on shipping and the sales taxes go to our beleaguered state budget.

The Paragon catalog indicates what parts they manufacture. There's some notation made. See the front of their catalog where they explain this. Bold typeface, different color, or something.

It wouldn't surprise me if Paragon was the manufacturer. This is the type of stuff the ydo.

You live near Paragon? That's a real resource. Sure, shop around. But there's nothing like going someplace in person; looking at the thing before you buy it; and, taking it home the same day. I'd love to be able to do that. It's always a crapshoot when I open the UPS box.

Re: C1 ignition shielding**CCentral makes it

Chris, and Chris, just checked my catalogs. CCentral makes the stainless shielding. Paragon makes what appears to be the correct spark plug heat shields. Prices are $349 and $350 respectively for complete Ignition shield sets. In Paragon's catalog the parts numbers are in color for the stuff they make.

If you are going to have the car judged there is a real difference in the repro and original top. The repro lid is nice and neat and the original is quite a bit cruder built.
