C1 AFB carb filter to carb pipe

Per the judging manual the pipe should be black but I do not see in catalogs. Would a pipe from Home Depot be more correct that the brass ones in the catalog?

I did a search but found nothing on this.

Nothing from Home Depot is correct

Paragon, 800 882-4688 has what you need. They're just up the road in Swartz Creek if you've never been. Bob Kunz is the guy to rebuild your carb, if needed, 314 845-2566. He is Missouri.

      Chris--
I chaired the last three revisions of the manual, and participated in the last one. where the "black iron" reference came from is unknown to me, but is new in this manual. What "black iron" is --I don't know. My experience is that the pipe should be steel, with an appearance like that of the pipe from the fuel pump to the filter. I've owned 29 62's, and I know that the sense of the manual is to say that it should not be brass or copper. Thanks for bringing this up--I'm chairing the next revision of the manual, and have made a note of that. To me, black iron is what they use for natural gas piping in the house, for example, and that is far different from the pipe between the filter and the carb.

I've followed this too. First reference I ever heard about this pipe being refered to as "black iron" was one the late Dale Pearman made a few years ago. He was making the point that this pipe was not brass. He called it "black iron." I too understood that to mean the same stuff they use for natural gas piping in the house. Which I believe is galvanized ("galvy") pipe. After Dale's reference, I went down to Home Depot looking for it. All I could find was brass there in that small size. My Home Depot search should not be considered the fianl word because my local Home Depot is not very good.
