I have aquired 3 P-02 hubcaps, trying to make a set for my 1970. Does anyone know the correct black paint to be used when refinishing the caps? It appears to be a semi gloss or satin black, however the juding manual says little regarding this option. Also, what is the best way to mask off the outer rim of the cap to be painted? Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
I used the semi flat paint available in most corvette parts catalogs, I used the same tape that you can buy at an auto parts store to pin stripe a car. I dont remember the size buy you should have no trouble figuiring it out. I cut a bunch of strips and overlapped them at the top and bottom of the cap. They came out perfect
