Who do you guys recommend for the restoration of instruments/gauges for C1's? Rogers? Corvette Specialties in Maryland? Anyone else? I would need the number for Rogers if you have it also. Thanks.

Re: gauge cluster restoration recommendations
I would never recommend Corvette Specialties of Maryland. I sent a beautiful original survivor 67 435hp cluster to Brian two years ago to have it calibrated and have the fuel guage and ammeter guage touched up. Thats it! It came out of my 435 car that was completely original and unrestored.the speedometer and 6500rmp tach were almost new looking. You could not find better originals. Brian insisted that he had to restore the whole cluster in order to get everything to match. He was almost yelling at me about it. This was the first time I had ever had guage work done to one of my cars. Not more that 5 minutes had passed and I changed my mined and called him back. At that point he said that he had already taken it apart and blasted all the faces. Again he was almost screaming at me about it. When I got it back I was completely sick to my stomach. The redline color on the tach and temperature were pink, not orange the way the originals were. I opened up the back of the cluster and took the speedometer housing out and found that the guage faces were all reproductions!!! Obviously he switched my beautiful original faces with reproductions that he took off the shelf. When I called him he denied everything and hung up the phone on me. Someday I will get this man back for stealing from me. I would recommend D & M restoration before I would go to CSOM.- Top

Re: gauge cluster restoration recommendations
Garry,
Now that you have some opinions, time to add another. Roger Scott of Corvette Instrument Service has done all my work and all have resulted as expected and requested, some better than expected. I have never heard anyone's negative opinion of him or his work. He is reasonable and timely. His web site is: www.corvetteinstruments.com. Or, you may call him at (561) 627-9345 (Eastern Time). Good luck on you restoration.
