My booster "squeaks" when the brakes are applied. I was told that if I applied silicon to the rod going into the booster it would lubricate a rubber seal thats up there and fix the squeak?? I just pulled the booster off of the fire wall and I see that the rod first goes through a hard plastic flange with foam inside of it. I dont want to poke around a lot as it looks like it would disintigrate if handled much. Could be that it's never been off the car before. At this point, all I want to do is fix the squeak and get the car back on the road. Booster restoration will come later. Did I get good adivce about using silicon? Is this is the correct way to go about this? How far up the rod do put the lubricant. Any advice greatly appreciated! - Gary
