    C1/60 Door stricker problem

We had to drill the bolts to remove the strikers. If we need to replace the backing plates, what's the best way to get at them?

Pull the gas tank cover,or I would step up drilling till it was close to the bolt size , then re-tapp them.

The gas tank cover is off. I still don't see a way to get at the banking plates.

        Larry...

On the drivers side, you must remove the gas filler neck. If the stamped cage that holds the threaded plate has broken loose form the rivets, best to pull the plate, rechase the treads and hold in place as you mount the door strikers. If the cages are in good shape, you can retape (rechase the threads from the outside and remounting will be no problem.
