It's amazing to me that my Driveline just arrived yesterday. Besides that it looks like my shredder got a hold of it before I could even have read it. Maybe our club should consider wrapping these in a plastic sleeve like the Restorer and use a postage rate better than bulk mail. I for one would give a few dollars more a year in dues for better service. But who am I, only the UPS man.

I agree. It does little good to call someone and find that parts were sold "over a week ago".

I just received mine in the mail 2 days ago. After a fellow member in my area received his over 3 weeks earlier, I called headquarters and they sent me another issue, it arrived the day after I finally received the original!

What's a Driveline?

I haven't gotten mine yet as of February 15. I'm beginning to wonder what my dues (just paid them) are going for. Too many complaints I'm reading about Driveline delivery. By the time I get the Driveline it's worthless.

Come on, folks, get with it, or send my money back.

I am new to the ncrs, and the drive line mag, and i am shure this has been said before but here goes, Why couldn't it be posted on the internet under a ncrs member only website and everyone would have the opertunity to look at it at the same time? P.S. I haven't got mine yet either;

We've all been down this path.....

Until the MAJORITY of the NCRS membership is ready to adopt internet communication as a vehicle, we'll remain a print/mail oriented society. Our BoD (Board of Directors) HAS been active in studies along these lines in prior years (see archieve threads) and decided to postpone efforts to adopt electronic publishing....

If you disagree, then follow the political process by communicating with your respective Regional Directors for an explanation OR get active and run for office to create change in the organization!!!!

Plus, remember not to be so myopic.... We have a bona fide chapter in the United Kingdom who receive their snail-mail publications up to FOUR MONTHS after we in the US get mail!!!! Plus, we have individual members all around the world who experience time delays that are even greater.

So, when you advocate the notion of 'prompt' mailing are you really serious about evening the playing field by absorbing express mail global delivery distribution costs for the rest of the world (they pay the same annual dues that we in the US do)?

It's easy to sit back behind our computer screens in Anytown, USA and throw stones at those who've run for office and administer our club on a basically volunteer basis! But, when one wrestles with all of the disparities of our group as a whole and tries to find a way to become egalitarian, it's simply not that easy!!!

You might be surprised to find how many in the club do NOT have computers, don't want them, WANT to receive printed publications they can take to the bedroom, toilet, Etc. and do NOT want the 'young whippersnappers' who are computer literate to have a parts access advantage due to their computer orientation....

In the end, this is a political rather than technical issue. So, if you want to make change in the organization (it is OUR club), then run for office or make your feelings known through your existing elected representatives to create change.... This is a technical discussion forum here...

Given the long delay between deadline

and publication, it's a probable safe bet that the part was sold at a Swap Meet BEFORE the Driveline was published.
