Hi everyone, is there any definate way of telling a original soft top frame from a reproduction? Are there any numbers or markings on header, or bows? I have the 2 piece part which comes off the header where top of window seats. I have the header and all the sides, but I am missing bows. My car is March 10, 59 build date. Is this correct for my car. Also will the reproduction bows work as well as the originals? Any sources for original bows? Thanks Scott #40610

Re: C1 soft top frame
scott: i know of no mfgr. logos or part #'s on original c-1 sort top assemblies. i suspect the repo bows would work with what you have. Either Coffman or Sully tops repo the pieces you need. They ad. in the driveline. mike- Top

Re: C1 soft top frame
I purchased a Sully's reproduction frame from Paragon. The repro frame does not have some of the features of the original frame. Like the following:
1. The screw holes in the bows for the pads are not threaded. One uses self tapping screws.
2. One needs to drill and tap holes for the small rubber on each side on the rear bow that rests on the rear deck. (Sorry I don't have my ST12 at work so I can't use the correct names).
3. The header has no provision for T nuts for the front seal.
There are some additional minor differences. This is not to discourage you using reproductions.
